With AI in 2030 - Part 1

Here are my thoughts on what will happen with AI in 2030. I would love to be incorrect and it is ok to be incorrect I guess. I am expecting to be incorrect because the actual progress will be a lot more than I am assuming here; so all good. These are based on my understanding in December 2025. 

What do I think about what I am seeing now? 

• The way Ai and gpt apps are answering questions, the users/ consumers are getting smarter and way more educated. Example - I want to learn how to play piano. Now in the absence of Ai, I will need a tutor who can come home or I will go to the tutor which is time consuming. Additionally myself and my tutor are time bound. However, Ai can simulate my piano and teach me which nodes to press with for practice and show me corrections. Better to be told by Ai than a tutor/ teacher, maybe? 

• Students are using Ai to write their essays. Because of Ai the quality of their essays is good and has improved. Otherwise, the students will have resistance towards researching, summarising, writing, proof reading and so on. However, Ai has abstracted all that. Now there are two sides to this. One, the quality has improved which is really good. The other side is that those students have not struggled and gone through the learning or writing. It is like a calculator on steroids. Do you feel the calculator made you dumb? Only answer if you were born in log tables, calculator era.    

I gave a couple of examples to kick start the conversation. Now lets move a bit upwards and see how industries will evolve in 2030. All these industries are right now adopting and experimenting with Ai. 

Agriculture - 

In the next 4-5 years Ai is capable of understanding and predicting the weather patterns and rain almost accurately. Rain is one of the most unpredictable in some of the regions. I believe most of the region's rain is predictable within a range considering seasonality, but those regions where excess or below average rain happens creates most of the challenges. 

I believe there is enough data available around rain per year, crops planted by hector, yield per hector per region by crop, prices of crops, fluctuation in demand and so on. Ai will help the agriculture industry to manufacture a better quality and higher quantity of output. 

Similarly, pest detection, weed detection, farming supply chain will be a lot more improved, better and economical in 2030. In my hometown in India, there are deaths because of farm pesticide spraying. I am sure these will be eradicated with Ai and drone tech. 

There are farmer suicides in my home state. The challenge farmers face is lack of weather and crop predictability and I believe Ai can solve this in 2030.

Education -  

“Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace.” ― Confucius

I fully agree that education is the only basis for a better tomorrow and a better world. In the introductory para I mentioned how students are excelling with GPTs. I believe in the next 4-5 years schools, universities and educational institutes will be a lot more open to Ai. Students using Ai can be an enabler for them to complete studies. I understand with Ai if courses are getting easier, then educational institutes can take appropriate steps. Are courses getting easier or just the homework is easier? 

Learning will get personalised, boring and difficult history chapters can be told with stories and characters, mathematics will become gamified and every student will love to do maths. 

Should teachers also use Ai? They should. Because, I trust Teachers and educational institutes are the real orchestrators of tomorrow and Ai will empower them to do so. Looking forward to 2030 … 

Healthcare - 

WHO says - Approximately 30 million preventable deaths from childbirth are projected by 2030; if current trends continue, with a newborn or mother dying every 7 seconds.

My brother and family are doctors; so here is what I understand from breakfast conversations. Healthcare is all about symptoms, their diagnosis, access to a professional, opinions about treatment, treatment, recovery and prevention. In 2030, Ai will be instrumental in understanding and knowing the symptoms better. This will happen as an outcome of access to medical information. Ai will help heart surgeons, radiologists and other experts do the exact diagnosis because of its processing and natural language capabilities. Internet, browser, apps and telemedicine have made access better and Ai will improve it further. Similar will happen in recovery and prevention. 

20 years back, heart related diseases killed many. Heart diseases are in control now. In 2025, I believe cancer is still a challenge and Ai can help eradicate it till 2030.

I selected these three industries as I know about them. In part 2, I will explain more industries. In 2030, everything will be right - hence the picture and Ai will help create it.
